Director's Notes for Maid to Order

There are a few lines at the beginning of this play which I've altered (in order to place the play in the year 2004, and get rid of the "mammy" feel of the maid Valeria, and get rid of any stereotyped/predjudiced wording in the opening scene. The show overall is very funny, lots of mistaken identities and a good time is being had by all at rehearsals so far. The play is also generally clean, and that is another reason I chose it (because I work in a school, and it needs to be appropriate for actors and audiencces). Overall we are very happy with the show, good stage directions and a plan for the set are included.
